At the very least, there should have been a sofa and two chairs. But I guess at least they had a full-sized sofa. A lot of places skimp out and provide love seats, which only comfortably seat one person.
These are great plans and I have had a fun time building this! Made two at the same time to go on our side patio. Good project during “social distancing”! Found a slight discrepancy: in the cut-list you call for 8 total pieces for the backrests 1×4 @ 28 1/4″ but in the step by step drawings it shows the backrest pieces to be 1×4 @ 29 1/4″. I used the cut-list to precut everything, so I didn’t notice the difference until I got to the assembly stage. I just adjusted the rear support to 26 1/2″, so I still had room to shape the tops. .
But Lee and Bunnell’s slant-back chair endured. Permutations of the original design continued to appear, some from the workshops of weekend hobbyists, and others from the loftier circles of furniture designers like Gerrit Rietveld, whose 1918 “Red and Blue Chair” and boxy 1934 “Crate Chair” exhibit similar DNA. In 1938, Irving Wolpin of New Jersey patented a chair in the Westport form with a fan-shaped back and slats where Lee and Bunnell had used planks. It’s essentially the version we recognize today, and it appears throughout the Adirondacks, and even in Westport, where Lee’s design still holds court on some porches.
Who knew you could spray paint outdoor plastic chairs and that about an hour of my time would result in loving them again? And the best part? …I’ve been dying to use these bright colors and finally had a perfect excuse! Seriously, this project was so simple. It took me about an hour (broken up into two 30 minute spray sessions) to do 6 chairs.

This wood is weather resistant and also covered vanish to prevent termite and other insects from feeding on the wood. The natural wood helps to maintain the radiant wood look for long; it won’t fade or lost its feel.

It must be noted, most synthetic resin furnishings are constructed on an aluminum frame. For this reason, the strength of synthetic resin outdoor furniture is very closely intertwined with aluminum outdoor furniture. Harmonia Living actually makes sectionals that feature thicker, commercial grade aluminum frames that use a larger gauge of aluminum.
When it comes to buying patio chairs for tall people certain height requirements are essential. But unfortunately most deck chairs seem to […]
4. Use your cordless drill and 2-inch screws to attach these new support pieces. Drill through the pallet slats and into each new piece, 2 screws per piece from both the top and the bottom of the pallet. You can drill pilot holes with an 1/8-inch drill bit if you want to prevent the pallet slats from splitting, but it’s not required.
Thanks. After you cut the 20* angle, you then cut 2 inches off at a 90° angle. This is done to support the front seat slat on top. Let me know if that answers your question. It can be confusing! The diagram above is helpful.

Mark front leg on inside with arm support on outside, as shown in diagram. Leave 1 ½” space in front of stretcher. Attach stretcher to front and back legs with 2 ½” exterior screws and glue. (This might not be perfect as far as ½ from front as I learned. Most important thing is that both are the same height)
